The call to be God’s visible grace extends beyond our church into our neighborhood and world.  These ministries offer ways for us all to be involved in the commandments to love God and love our neighbor.

Community Involvement Team
Our Community Involvement Team (CIT) works to discern and shape the heart of Grace Community in the areas of mercy and justice. We develop partnerships with organizations and persons (Leland House, Silicon Valley Christian Health Alliance, Asian American Cancer Support Network and many others) to serve our local community.

Projects include disaster relief, micro-enterprise loan development, housing construction, business and technical training, and teaching English. We are involved in countries as near as Mexico and as far as Ukraine.

Community Involvement Team

The Community Involvement Team (CIT) works to discern and shape the heart of Grace Community in the areas of mercy and justice. We develop partnerships with organizations and persons involved in mercy and justice ministries.

In the past we’ve partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank, The Family Giving Tree, Prison Fellowship, Community Pregnancy Center, Bayshore Christian Ministries, Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Ecumenical Hunger Project, and Sacred Heart Community Services.

Current partnerships include:

Leland House
Leland House is a medical-residential care facility for persons who are HIV positive. Location: 141 Leland Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94134. Grace Community sends a team every fourth Sunday to prepare and serve dinner, spend time with residents, and pray for those requesting prayer ministry. We leave at 2 and return at 7 for debriefing and prayer. Volunteers are needed to contribute recipes, shop for ingredients, cook in the kitchen at Leland House, mingle with residents during the afternoon, and pray with those requesting prayer.

Journey to Mosaic
Grace Community is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church’s Pacific Southwest Conference. Journey to Mosaic is a four day experiential bus trip from Northern California to Southern California that pairs people up with somebody of a different ethnic background. It unpacks portions of the African-American, Asian-American, and Hispanic-American stories in California through tours, films, and partner/large group discussions. The CIT offers scholarships for the Journey. To find out more go to www.pswc.org and click on the bus.
